Elizabeth van Duyvenbode – Moorside Run Club Mental Health Ambassador

Here at Moorside Park we are proud to be a part of Run Together’s Mental Health Ambassador programme. The programme aims to establish a network of volunteer ambassadors in running clubs across England.Being physically active helps our physical and mental well-being and for people with mental health problems this can make it harder to even start being active. This could be due to not being motivated or having a lack of confidence.

The aim of the ambassador’s is to support people who are experiencing mental health problems in a range of ways by getting them to talk about mental health and share experiences, helping to remove the stigma that surrounds it. The ambassador’s also want to raise awareness of mental health problems and support people to start running or get back into running as well as those who are already running.

One in four of us will have a mental health issue at some point in our lives and we needn’t go through it alone. By sharing our experiences we can encourage others to #runandtalk.  Moorside Park couldn’t be a more friendly group and we would encourage anyone to come along, join in and have a good old chat with any one of us.
